“[Trump] said, ‘I’m sorry, your girlfriend, I saw she was cold.’ And then he kept talking to my boyfriend.” Hayek — who was born in Mexico and criticized the reality TV star last year for his inflammatory comments about Latinos during his presidential campaign — told Noah, 33, that Trump then “befriended” her boyfriend and invited the couple to a dinner after the event.
“The whole time, he’s talking to my boyfriend,” she recounted.
Later, she added, the National Enquirer published that Donald Trump wouldn’t go out with her because she was too short.
After that, Hayek received another call from Trump, acting surprised and telling her she didn’t want people to believe that story.
“The man thought that I was going to try to go out with him so that nobody thought that he wouldn’t go out with me because of that,” she said.
For her performance, Hayek was nominated for an Ariel Award.
Hayek had a starring role opposite Matthew Perry in the 1997 romantic comedy Fools Rush In.
